Carl Bilter's 1957 Chrysler New Yorker
Page 3

The 392 cubic inch hemi-head V8 engine is original to the car. It was the largest engine in any passenger car in 1957. It's performance is legendary. The majority of the finishes in the engine compartment are the factory original.

All four GE "center dot" headlamps are original lamps installed at the factory and fully operational.

Both sets of aluminum keys are original and both keys fobs are original to the car. One of the key fobs has the Chrysler d'elegance show car on it with the dealer name engraved on the back.

Extra new oil filters were included that were bought in 1957.

We have the original owners manual and the dealer envelope.

Oil change stickers are intact from 1959, 1965, and 1976. This 1976 sticker indicates the car was serviced at Brown Chrysler-Plymouth-Imperial in Macomb, which was the only surviving Chrysler dealer in town after Bill Wayland closed. The initials "CWM" stand for Curt Miller, a college student working at Brown at the time. A few years later I met Curt as he was from my hometown and we became best friends and fellow Chrysler collectors.

The 1957 polishing cloths, owners manual, owners certificate, and a perfect 1957 Illinois state highway map were in the glove box.

Now in its next generation of ownership, this mighty Chrysler for 1957 continues to provide enjoyment for its owners and spectators alike.
